In terms of culinary delights, we have set ourselves the goal of offering our guests original Grindelwald products and specialities from the region. That is why you can expect to be served fresh cow’s milk and spicy cheese from our mountains, delicious pastries and bread from the local bakery and of course juicy meat from Swiss agriculture.
Restaurant and Panorama-Terrace
The half board includes a balanced breakfast buffet with original Grindelwald “Eigerness” products, fruit juices, smoothies, fruits, vegetables and products for guests with food intolerances.
The five-course dinner includes a colorful salad buffet, three main-courses to choose from (meat, fish or vegetarian) and a regional cheese platter.
In sunshine and pleasant temperatures breakfast and dinner are served on our panoramic terrace with breathtaking views of the Eiger North Face and the Wetterhorn.
1868-Stübli
Did you know the history of the Stübli? It was in the year of our Lord 1866 when a certain Dr. Gustav Beck from Biel acquired the property for CHF 6’000.00, on which he built a chalet in 1868 (insured sum in case of fire CHF 36’000.00). This chalet still stands today on the east side of the hotel. In 1892 Gottlieb Stettler acquired the chalet for CHF 45,000.00.
Gydis-Bar – the oldest Bar in Grindelwald
According to legend, “Gydi” was the discoverer and founder of Grindelwald, and therefore the first man to live in this stunning Eiger valley. It is therefore quite appropriate that the rustic cellar bar at our hotel was named after him.
Lobby Bar
In the late hours, until 11:00 pm, it sits and drinks perfectly in the English pub atmosphere. Directly at the bar or in our billiard area, where you should definitely have a game.
