Ski and Snowboard in Grindelwald
44 lifts and cable cars invite you to come and have fun in the snow. The three regions of Grindelwald-First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen and Mürren-Schilthorn open up far over 200 km of slopes, including six to twelve kilometre-long runs down to the valley of various degrees of difficulty. A total of over 40% of the slopes are equipped with snow-making machines.
- Grindelwald-First
The first sector - Grindelwald’s local ski area - is situated on the opposite side on First, between Grosse Scheidegg and Oberjoch. The mostly easy to intermediate runs are accessible from the village by the First gondola cableway. For the less experienced and insecure skier, as well as families, there is a special «slow skiing area» of about 2 km. For snowboarders the trendy Bärgelegg Terrain Park will provide a lot of fun in the snow. The super pipe at Schreckfeld station with a radius of 5.5 metres is one of the biggest and best half-pipes in Switzerland. - Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen
Kleine Scheidegg, an eldorado for skiers, lies in the heart of the Jungfrau Region at the foot of the world-famous Eiger north face. This, the largest ski region in the area, comprises over 19 modern lifts and 110 km of perfectly prepared runs, and therefore belongs to the most popular winter sport regions in Switzerland. The region is accessible from both Grindelwald and Wengen. Not only experts, but also more leisurely skiers get their money’s worth in all respects. Along the slopes, the numerous cosy mountain restaurants and bars guarantee that real winter feeling. Männlichen is renowned for its beautifully prepared, very wide slopes. On Kleine Scheidegg the world-famous Lauberhorn run is an absolute must for all experienced skiers and snowboarders. But the most beautiful thing is always the scenery, with numerous peaks over 4000 metres and the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau triad. - Mürren-Schilthorn
The third ski region, Mürren-Schilthorn, extends as far as the almost 3000 metre-high Schilthorn, on which the Piz Gloria rotating restaurant (well-known to all James Bond fans) is located. Situated between 1650 and 3000 metres above sea level, Mürren-Schilthorn is the highest skiing region in the Bernese Oberland and guarantees top snow conditions right into the spring. 53 km of slopes with 12 lifts and a breath-taking panorama will enrapture all winter sport fans. Those for whom the fabulous view is not enough, can tackle the 12 km black Inferno run that descends over 2000 metres on its way to Lauterbrunnen. Freeriders will love the 30 to 40 degree off-piste slopes, and families can entertain themselves on sunny Allmendhubel.
Snowboard & Freestyle Skiing
The Jungfrau Region offers fun for Freestyle skiers and snowboarders in the Freestyle parks on Grindelwald-First and Mürren-Schilthorn. Check it out! Kickers, rails, steep corners, waves and dips await both experts and beginners. With its radius of 5.5 m the superpipe on Schreckfeld is one of the biggest and best halfpipes in Switzerland.
